Cakes

  • Q: What cakes do you have available?

  • A: Go to sugarbakerycafe.com/order and scroll down to cakes. Click on a cake you're interested in and you'll see a description of what's in it.

  • Q: Can I order a cake that you don't have on your order form?

  • A: Email the bakers first at orders@sugarbakerycafe.com.


  • Q: How many people do your cakes serve and what sizes do you have available?

  • A: Our cakes are tall, at 5", and the serving size reflects that:

    • 6 inch round - serves 6-8

    • 8 inch round - serves 10-15

    • 10 inch round - serves 20-25

    • 1/4 sheet (9"x13") - serves 30-35

    • 1/2 sheet (18"x13") - serves 60-70


  • Q: Can I have something written on the cake?

  • A: Yes, we will write anything you want on the top of the cake space permitted. Just put your text in the Notes section during checkout.


  • Q: Can I print a picture on a cake?

  • A: Yes, see the Printed Picture section below.


  • Q: Do you deliver?

  • A: Yes, see the Delivery section below.


  • Q: Do I need to refrigerate my cake?

  • A: Your cake tastes best at room temperature. Leave it out about 2 hours before serving. If you need to keep it longer than that, put it in the refrigerator. Cheesecake is the exception and should remain in the refrigerator until ready to serve.


  • Q: What if I forgot to mention something about my order when I placed it?

  • A: Email us at orders@sugarbakerycafe.com


  • Q: What if I don't like the cake?

  • A: Flavor is subjective and all our cakes are made fresh daily. Just not liking the flavor you selected does not mean we can refund you the price of your cake. If you are extremely disappointed with your cake, and think it is inedible, save the rest of it and return it to us. We can discuss options at that time. No refunds, full or partial, can be given without the cake being returned.

Delivery

  • Q: Do you deliver?

  • A: Yes. Price is based on distance from the bakery (1014 Madison St). For distances over 5 miles, please email orders@sugarbakerycafe.com or call the store at 206-749-4105


  • Q: How do I pay for delivery?

  • A: Go to sugarbakerycafe.com/order and add the Delivery item to your cart with the item(s) you're ordering. During checkout you'll be asked for a "Pickup" date and time. Use this to enter your delivery date and time. Put the delivery address, and any contact info, into the Notes section.


  • Q: Can this delivery be a surprise?

  • A: No, sorry. Surprise deliveries have many problems. Often times the intended recipient is not home and it gets left on the porch and stolen. Or since the recipient doesn't know to expect the delivery, they refuse it. This happens ALL the time. You must let the intended recipient know that something is coming at the date and time selected. You must also give us a phone number of the recipient so we can call if there are delivery issues.

    IMPORTANT: If we attempt delivery and are unsuccessful for the reasons listed above, you'll have to pay a return fee. If the cake is stolen off the porch, we cannot refund you. If you want us to attempt delivery again, you'll have to pay the delivery fee again.

  • Q: Do you deliver to hospitals?

    A: Unfortunately, no. Hospital orders most often get lost. We can't deliver to a hospital, even if you want to meet the driver at the door. You'll need to pick up your order.

  • Q: What if I forgot to add delivery to my order or forgot to put the address in the Notes section?

  • A: Email orders@sugarbakerycafe.com and send us the info. Please include your four digit order number.

  • Q: Can I change my delivery time or date?

  • A: We use a third party delivery system, and once the order has been placed, we cannot change it without being charged. Because of this, we'd have to charge you the delivery fee again to make the change.

Printed Picture

  • Q: Can I print a picture on a cake?

  • A: Yes. Add the Printed Picture option to your cake when ordering. Email the picture to orders@sugarbakerycafe.com.


  • Q: What about cookies?

  • A: Yes, we can print on 3 inch square sugar cookies. We require one dozen minimum and only one picture per dozen.


  • Q: I didn't see a way to send a picture when I placed the order. How do I get it to you?

  • A: Email it to orders@sugarbakerycafe.com and include your four digit order number


  • Q: Any special requirements for the picture?

  • A: Any popular image format is fine as well as PDF. The higher the resolution, the better. If it's smaller than 150x150, it probably won't be as clear. For round cakes, the picture should be square or able to be cropped square without losing anything important in the picture. Also, there shouldn't be anything important in the corners, since those will be cropped off to make it round. The picture shouldn't be mostly black or dark. Dark pictures don't print as well on cakes.


  • Q: I don't know how to edit pictures to make them work on a cake. What do I do?

  • A: We'll do all the editing for you to make it look right on the cake. If we have issues with the picture you sent, we'll let you know.
